  • “The Friday Five…” with Maglev

    20 januari, 2017

For the new episode of the Friday Five we’re cathing up with Floris Amman aka Maglev. He released several tracks and remixes at Above All Records and is currently collecting a lot of support for his new tune on Freegrant Music “Flight to Jupiter”. Played by Above & Beyond, Kyau& Albert, JES, M.I.K.E. Push, Shane 54 and more it is time to have a little chat with this rising star from Tilurg, the Netherlands.   Q: Who or what inspired you to start writing music? Maglev: I did make music when I was around twelve with Magix Music Maker, but those were just some organized loops that all fitted together. Making music more seriously began when I was around 18 and heard Swedish House Mafia’s (not by that name at the time) “Leave The World Behind” and thought: “I want to make something like that as well” Q: At which party would you like to be the headliner someday? Maglev: That’s a tricky one, because it must be a Ushuaia/Space one or an EDC fest. But… the most extraordinary parties where Group Therapy 200 and A State of Trance Festival. But those revolve around their creator. Q: What does your studio look like? Did you apply any room treatment? Maglev: Actually, I produce in my acoustically terrible bedroom. It’s fine to make a draft, but as soon as I’m going all technically I must put on my headphones to really hear what’s going on. Other than that, it’s a nice room to produce in. A […]

  • “The Friday Five…” with STA

    18 november, 2016

Hi Andrey, nice to meet you! We know you are producing and releasing a lot and just came back from Prague for your gig at Trance Academy. You seem on fire, but for people who don’t know STA yet… Q: Who is your favourite producer and by which DJ’s are you influenced? A: Hey guys, Prague was awesome and I can’t wait to play on an event like that. It is really hard to answer this question because nowadays you can see how many producers and DJs are in the world. There are three producers who I like the most: Omnia, MaRLo and Jorn van Deynhoven. Because those three guys have an idea in the tracks, I’d even say non-standard idea. That’s why their tracks are so close to me. I also have few favourite DJs, not one. They are: Armin, Paul van Dyk, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Cosmic Gate and MaRLo as well. I like what they play and how. Q: Michel van Hilten’s question via the Above All Records page: Are you open for collabs? A: Of course, I’m an open person 🙂 Q: Here’s a possible dilemma: DJ or Producer? A: Both, DJ and Producer. I love producing music and I love djing. When you produce new track, you can play it in your set and see how people react on it. Isn’t it cool? Q: What’s your favourite studio tool / plugin / gear? A: I tried all major DAWs, but my favourite and the most comfortable to work with is Ableton. Mostly […]
